How to Tutor

It has long been obvious, particularly among caring parents, that public schools often do not have the resources to give every child the attention necessary to successfully learn the basics:  reading, writing, and arithmetic.  Without these fundamental skills, the child  stands little chance of growing and expanding his or her knowledge and faces a lifetime of frustration and pain while trying to catch up, not really knowing how.

How To Tutor Book CoverWith the urgency of this necessity in mind, Sam Blumenfeld, well-known author and educator, developed the How to Tutor system to help parents, teachers, and tutors to easily and effectively start a young student out in the right way.  Mr. Blumenfeld, who spent much of his career investigating the decline in American literacy,  realized that this task could appear daunting but he also proved it need not be.

The How to Tutor series of publications provides everything one needs to teach a youngster to read, write, and correctly pronounce English, as well as achieve a command of arithmetic, from addition and subtraction to multiplication and division.  The materials are perfect for those parents who want to give their kids the preparation that will serve them well when they begin school.  For the homeschooler, they are an excellent choice and have proved their worth time and time again to parents all over the world.  Blumenfeld also recommends them to those who would like to enter private tutoring as a profession.  A tutor’s success would be guaranteed if he or she follows the simple and straight forward instructions.

If you are contemplating giving your kids a head start before beginning school, whether it be at home or in a public school, or even addressing the needs of an illiterate adult, please look carefully at the How to Tutor series. You don’t need any formal teaching experience to achieve teaching success in the 3 R’s.  As a matter of fact, if you enjoy reading to kids and answering their questions, you can become a successful tutor.
